Recipe: Cabbage Roll Casserole

Cabbage Roll Casserole


1 package of extra lean ground turkey (I use the Costco one)

1 onion, chopped

2 cups of cooked brown rice

1 680ml can of tomato sauce

4-6 tbsp parmesan cheese

1 head of cabbage (any variety), chopped

¼ cup low-fat cheddar cheese


  1. Saute ground turkey and onion in a pan over medium heat (can use pam cooking spray to prevent sticking).

  2. Once the turkey is cooked add the tomato sauce and rice

  3. Spray casserole dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

  4. Layer turkey/rice/tomato sauce mixture, then 2 tbsp parmesan cheese sprinkled, then cabbage. Finish with a layer of cabbage.

  5. Cook covered at 375 degrees for 30-40min, sprinkle with cheddar cheese and cook uncovered an additional 15-20min.

  6. Serve hot
